It is weird..Locally, the gay and lesbian book store Little Sister's had a major problem with Canadian Customs..
Their books were seized and confisicated. So, other bookstores ordered the same material...GUESS WHAT...Canadian Customs did NOT seize them and allow these bookstores to get the books that Little Sister's was not allowed to have.
Slightly off-topic in a way....didn't I hear that there are like 3,000 government official in Washington who are hired specifically to watch pornos? I can be wrong about that number, but it is one job all the guys would probably want. *LOL*

I always thought Washington had its share of jackoffs. Now I know. But to give credit where it is due, you have to admit that it would be a rather "hard" job to tackle. I'm willing to bet that their little assistants probably get beat a lot. Oh well, at least the benifits keep on coming. Ohhhh, this is too easy!

I've been reading through my copy and, damn, this is great. Fiction's top-notch, non-fiction is very entertaining, and the layout is sharp and easy on the eyes (how's that, Paul? LOL). Great job again, guys! It's a classy mag that I'm proud to be a part of. Um, Greg...you may want to paper clip page 74. LOL T Thanks, Tom! ;D

"P.S. Cyber Bob--after 3 years of seeing you with short hair in your bb profiles, I'm shocked--SHOCKED--to see you with long hair!"
Jesus Christ! I don't know how I missed that until now. But you might even be STUNNED to know it's even longer now than when that photo was taken. Gonna go it nice and long, then stop showering for a few weeks, and go make doomsday prophecies in the park.

I have just spent the weekend - around my own writing - reading what is a great publication. Yes, you guessed it, INSIDIOUS REFLECTIONS #5. IR is up there with my other two (UK) fave mags; WHISPERS OF WICKEDNESS and THE HORROR EXPRESS. Get ready for this, cos my reviews are usually long Lay out first. I opened the envelope and discovered this shiny covered treasure glowing up at me. Wonderful production standards that immediatly bode well for what was contained within. My only qualm - and it's a tiny one - is the omission of advert space on the inside of the cover. A wasted oppourtunity, but one that is easily forgiven. Then I progressed inside and was greeted with not one, but two editorials, this is the mag that just keeps on giving. At this juncture I made the concious descision to do something I don't usually do. I read it in the nude (I'm kidding). I decided to read all the non-fiction pieces first. What a selection of interviews and articles, very impressive and informative. I especially liked the article on the Abbadon Inn. I now want all the books. My fave, though, had to be the Jeff Strand column. I laughed from start to finish and can't wait for the next issue. I won't mention all the stories as I would be here all day (and we all have other things to do). For me the stand out story was NEON AND SILENCE. I loved this tale of fortune telling, love and bodily mutilation. It was written with a skill and effortless ease that oozed from every word. Second up would have to be CRASH AND BURN. I love zombies, so this one was a real treat. Would like to see more of this story. WINTER'S REBIRTH was just beautiful, nice to see that IR mixes up the morbid and strange with tales of undying love. BLUE MAN. Short and, anything but sweet. The perfect peice of flash fiction. MILKMAID. Funny in a way that shouldn't be. Nasty, but I couldn't help laughing at the punchline. THAT WHEN I WAKED I CREID TO DREAM AGAIN. Unerving. Holidays will never be the same again. WHEN MY KIDS START DOUBTING SANTA I WILL SIT THEM DOWN AND READ THIS ONE TO THEM. ADDICT. A story that leaves a bad taste in your mouth is always a winner in my book. FIZZ: Almost a documentry on the dangers of dating strangers. Read this warning and take heed. SEASCAPE. Now don't hate me for this, but I thought this was the weakest story included. It featured some wonderful style and the image of the old couple tied together and saying goodbye still lingers, but overall it was just too bitty, disjointed and felt incomplete. Not a bad tale, just lacking something special. All in all the IR team should be given three cheers for a tremendous job. They have gained at least one new regular reader. And before I leave I must mention the artwork. FANTASTIC. Some will be scanned, framed and adorn my office wall. WELL DONE IR AND LONG SHALL YOU PROSPER!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: Sorry I lied. I had to mention all the fiction. It's in my nature. ;D

Wow. Thanks, Garry! You've made my day. ;D About the inside cover printing, that's something we want to do, but we've had no takers yet. It raises the cost of printing a hefty amount and without an advertiser(s) that wants those spaces, it's not worth it to Chris and I to pay to put our own ads in that place just yet. Hopefully soon, companies or authors will buy those spaces and we can fill them. It's definitely not a wasted opportunity, the offers are there, but sadly, we haven't hit that stage yet where everyone and their mother wants to put an ad in our mag no matter where it fits. One day... one day...

Very nice, Garry. I'm glad you liked it. I Think you would surely like this upcoming issue then. Hell, for that matter, issue 4 as well. You should get them both! Thanks for the kind words and don't worry, I won't tell Ketchum you didn't dig his story. lol

Very generous of ya Gary, but now I'm jealous. I haven't even read all those stories yet! I'm making my way through slowly, reading them in between other books and trips to and from work so that I can make the pleasure last.
