I, too, like the new website. It looks more upscale. Like the difference between underwear shopping at Victoria's Secret vs. Wal-Mart. I do, though, kinda miss the scary woman. Will we ever see her again? *sigh* There you go, Mr/Ms. Writer, there's your next short story -- Where did the Scary Woman Go?

The site looks great, and I'm glad to see a more consistent view across the pages. However, I have one complaint -- the page/images are friggin' ENORMOUS. I don't really abide by the 8-second rule any more, but a static page should NEVER be over a 1MB -- many flash animations aren't that large. In comparison, Amazon.com is less than 300KB, EBay.com is 121KB, and CemetaryDance.com is less than 300KB.
Please optimize those images, or use creative CSS to eliminate many of them (with a little work, I could probably down the size of the site to about 20% what it is, and have it be MUCH easier to edit). The Photoshop Slice Tool is supposed to be something to assist you in designing a site -- it shouldn't be used to design the site entirely.
Overall, you've got 30+ unneccessary table cells, when you could easily set it up in about 10-12 CSS divs. Check out csszengarden.com to see how they do absolutely INCREDIBLE things with CSS.
As an aside, I went and combined/compressed the 4 images that made up the top "header" image -- I got it compressed to 41K with no loss of quality, which is less than 1/4 the size of the images you have now. You could easily have this page under 200K if you wanted to.

Thanks, Gary, good to have ya back, bud. Where you one of those guys that literaly put a house on a trailor and drove it through the streets, or did you just move to another house? I'll get those questions to ya pronto.
Chris, I didn't know you spoke Latin. lol

Just caught this thread, the new site does look good but I have to agree with Chris's comments about the size of things and the excessively sliced-up images. Have you considered a bona-fide content management system? Some nits: "Sanity" is spelled "Sanitay" in the header on the main page. Also, the javascript hover-link-images are not working off of the main page. I get red-x'd when I hover on the top menu on pages like this one.

Thank you for your suggestions. However, you may want to refresh, clear your cookies or something because the red x problem was resolved months ago? I tried that. The front page works fine, it's the 'inner' pages that have things screwed up. If you examine the source, the problem is that whatever tool (frontpage, I assume) exported that page used absolute links to local files instead of relative links to server files. For example, if you view->source of the "Store" page, you will find dozens of references to files like: file:///E|/WEBSITES/Insidious Reflections/New July06/Forum.jpg That "file" tag will only work for someone who has that file in that location locally. It won't work for anyone else. It's looking for something on the E drive of the local machine, not the web server. I dont' even have an E drive, so it fails. Note that this only will show up when you hover the mouse. The code for the default and mouse-out image (which just restores the prior value) are correct. It's only screwed up in the onMouseOver tag of the anchor link, like this one: onMouseOver="MM_swapImage('menu1_r2_c4','','file:///E|/WEBSITES/Insidious Reflections/New July06/Forum.jpg',1);" I believe CSS will handle this much more smoothly, but if you're generating this HTML from Frontpage then that luxury may not be available to you.

We're leaving the site up for various reasons. We'll still be adding content to it, like reviews and interviews.
